Events

Eight Cousins is a small independent bookstore in the heart of a Cape Cod village. Opened in 1986, it became known as a children's specialty store. Over the years it has become Falmouth's only bookstore and taken on a more general inventory, emphasizing quality, community, and integrity.

Naturally, our Cape Cod  location makes for a busy summer tourist season. The peak weeks are from July 4 to Labor Day and during that time we run 2 - 4 events per week. However, weekend sales are strong starting Memorial Day weekend, and running up through the Columbus Day weekend. We're equidistant from Boston and Providence, each about 75 miles away. Equally important, we are the ferry port for Martha's Vineyard, just 10 miles off-shore. We're on excellent terms with other bookstores in the area, and whenever possible we encourage authors to visit multiple venues.

Types of events:

  • Books & Authors festival in collaboration with the Falmouth Public Library for fiction and non-fiction writers
  • Story times for ages 2-5
  • Illustration Workshops
  • Teen and YA events
  • School visits
