We've been delighted at the reception of the Cousins' Club that we introduced last summer. There have been some bumps along the way, to be sure, but overall we hope that you have been as happy with the program as we have. If you haven't already joined, ask us about the Club next time you're in the store.
In the last newsletter, we showcased some of the books that we are most looking forward to in 2014. We'd love to hear if there are any books (new or old) that you are particularly excited about reading this year.
We've got a little something for everyone on our social media sites. As always, we post event updates, articles about books and publishing, and store photos on Facebook. Photos from recent events, visiting author photos, staff recommendations, holiday lists, and fun things that book lovers will appreciate are posted on Pinterest. If you're a book lover AND Pinterest fan, let us know. We'll create a board on our site for you to create your own reading recommendations and lists.
Follow us on Twitter for . . . well to be honest we mostly just hang out and follow other people on Twitter, but sometimes we post photos, talk about what we're reading, and note random things that amuse us. Talk to us on Twitter! There we go. Tell us what you're reading! Who your favorite authors are! Send us event requests! Take pictures of you reading books you love -- bonus if you bought the book at Eight Cousins! And other book-related things that people do on Twitter.
If you haven't checked out our blog recently, we highly recommend visiting, because that's where we post staff, customer, and Morse Pond reviews. The 5th and 6th grade students at Morse Pond Middle School have been reading and reviewing advance reader copies of books. They have some great suggestions for readers ages 8-12. Customers of all ages are able to pick up their own advance reading copies to review, ask in store for details.
We hope you've seen our videos, over on YouTube. We have plans for the future . . . we'll keep you posted. Finally, our newest addition is a Tumblr page, written almost exlusively by Greg (age 18 and a high-school senior), which contains reviews, book playlists, recipes, and whatever Greg feels like writing.
Teachers: If you did not receive our teacher newsletter, sent out in December, you can find the letter here. We'll be sending out three teacher newsletters each school year. Sign up for exclusive information about new books, special deals, and updates about Teacher Appreciation Weekend: March 28-30.
